"The Hopeful Helpful"
I look around
And what do I see?
So many people
Just like me
People with kids-
With jobs and lives,
Mommies and Daddies
Husbands and Wives.
People in need of help,
Who come looking for a way
To feel better about things,
And get back on track one day.
All people should be treated
As equals-As kin
Regardless of their culture,
Or the color of their skin.
I want to help people,
That's truly why I'm here,
Learning to extend my heart-
Offer a hand, lend and ear
A degree in Human Services
Should be a good start indeed,
For I am the hopeful helper
And one of those in need.
